Why is cinderella so popular
Another thing to consider was the political climate, which would be a factor. Why was Cinderella so popular? Anyone could identified with her struggles. She was an underdog. Many believed that a good deed - and pure heart - wouldn't go unnoticed. Many moviegoers haven't seen the silent version of the fairy tale, with Mary Pickford in the title role. Even Julie Andrews played this iconic role, but it was only for a made-for-television production.
The current generation of viewers have seen Hillary Duff and Selena Gomez taking on the titular role. The list of actors who wore the glass slippers was long, but only a few stood out. It was a MGM musical, so this mustn't come as a shock. Not entirely sure what it was, but I saw Snow White growing up many times also and i found the movie semi-boring. It didn't keep my attention like Cinderella. And also it goes to say as a child my fave Disney princess was Cinderella.
I remember wishing I looked like her. So even though Cinderella isn't my fave anymore-as a child her and her movie captivated me. We love her nice personality and that she never give up in believing that her dreams would come true That relates from Walt Disney believe.
She is my favorite Disney Princess for her personality and almost all her fans agree with me in that. The other princesses have a great personality, but not compare to Cinderella. As for why she's featured most prominently in the merchandizing, I have to agree with magicfairydust the first poster and say she's the most iconic.
