What do votes on wattpad mean

I have about a dozen or so really dedicated readers, at the moment. Ones who read chapter updates right away and enthusiastically comment a couple have been with me since the first postings, which is pretty cool and chat about the story.

But you will find these are few and far between. When you get them, treat them well. Thank them often. Dedicate chapter to them.

Maybe follow them. If they interact at all, thank them for taking the time to read your stuff. No one likes that person. Well, I am assuming your story is already top quality, with no grammar mistakes, complex characters, and wonderful tension! Obviously, if you have major structural flaws, you will have trouble getting noticed unless you are writing One Direction fan fiction, then it seems anything goes. There is no exact formula to building readership on Wattpad, but I truly believe these things will help everyone.

They have worked for me, and are what I see successful writers doing. Okay, that is all for now. I am still new to the site. But I am pleased with my progress and am excited to see how the momentum continues to build. You a Wattpadder?

What I noticed when I clicked on their profiles after responding to their comments was that they were amazing writers willing to support other writers like me. I will second Taran Matharu. If you add a location to your profile, it will be public.

However, if you wish to keep this private, you must delete the location from your account in your Account Settings. Thank you so much, answers much appreciated. The more chapters you have in a story, the greater opportunity to gather reads and votes and the more exposure your story gets. Wattpad keeps track of how many reads, votes, and comments that each story gets, so you can see in … With tag rankings, stories are able to rank on multiple Hot Lists at the same time, and writers can see their "Most Impressive Ranking" at the very top of the story rankings page.

It also helps readers discover new content on Wattpad. Click on the star icon Vote above the comments. The Watty Awards. Try Premium. Log in Sign Up. Guides for Readers by howtousewattpad Guides for Readers Table of contents. There is always going to be a gap between the amount of reads and votes. It's unavoidable and not something to get concerned about. More in the reads to votes ratio chapter. Votes come gradually as more members stumble across your work. Voting is also incredibly important as a part of engaging with the Wattpad community.
